It’s been a great couple of years in Chelmsford, Essex, where awards are pouring in for our flagship development Beaulieu. The latest win is the coveted Green Flag Award, which is given to the country’s best parks.

If the last two years and lockdown(s) has taught us anything it is the vital role that our parks and green spaces play for our health and wellbeing, as a place to relax, exercise and meet friends and family safely.

The news that Beaulieu has achieved the Green Flag Award is therefore testament to the hard work and dedication of the team that make the green space such a great one that everyone can enjoy.

We are thrilled to be awarded the prestigious Green Flag Award for our park at Beaulieu – a sustainable urban expansion for the growing city of Chelmsford, which L&Q has been delivering alongside our partners at Countryside. This award reaffirms L&Q’s approach to placemaking by providing well designed, high-quality affordable homes in great open spaces.

This is a unique landscape-led development, offering 176 acres of green open space, alongside communal gardens, parks and pathways, perfectly complementing the peaceful views of the rolling Essex countryside.

Set within the majestic former parkland of King Henry VIII’s Palace of Beaulieu, the landmark 610-acre development will deliver 3,600 new mixed tenure homes once complete.
