This year’s First Time Buyer Awards saw L&Q scoop two accolades – Best Large Development for The Quarry in Erith, in partnership with Anderson, and ‘Highly Commended’ in the Best Partnership Category for L&Q’s joint venture with Mount Anvil, The Silk District.

The prestigious industry awards hosted by First Time Buyer Magazine took place in London on the 2nd September 2022.

Shortlisted alongside tough competition, both wins highlight L&Q’s commitment to delivering crucial new affordable homes in prime London locations.

Located a short walk from Whitechapel Station and the Elizabeth Line, together with Mount Anvil, L&Q at the Silk District is transforming a former warehouse site into a collection of 698 contemporary open plan homes with impressive on-site amenities of which the current phase of Shared Ownership homes from L&Q is already over 50% reserved.

Alongside the quick transport links across the capital and modern interiors, residents benefit from a wide range of on-site facilities. This includes a state-of-the-art gym, complete with Technogym exercise equipment, and a private Peloton studio for spinning classes. For those keen to impress visiting friends and family, the private cinema space can be booked out, a benefit available exclusively to residents.

Meanwhile The Quarry in Erith, a landmark 849-home neighbourhood delivered by L&Q and Anderson on the site of the former Parishes Loam Quarry in South East London, won Best Large Development.

Making a significant contribution to the borough’s housing targets, this multi award winning development which spans a 50-acre site will establish high quality living, along with educational and community spaces to build on the ecology of the site. Promoting a sense of countryside living, the development has been built with families in mind, introducing walkways across the site to encourage pedestrians and cyclists to travel through the site instead of around it, with no through access for cars.

All homes at The Quarry will offer generous living and outdoor spaces, and benefit from large floor-to-ceiling windows that maximise views and natural light. Additional features include fitted contemporary appliances and underfloor heating. All homes have access to private outdoor space in the form of gardens, balconies and terraces.
