Now in its 10th year, Shared Ownership Week brings together organisations and experts from across the sector to raise awareness of Shared Ownership – and we were once again a proud sponsor.
A key event in the annual calendar due to the fantastic insight, information and resources it offers to those thinking about buying through the part buy, part rent scheme, Shared Ownership Week brings a jam-packed series of online and in person events, as well as podcasts and published stories to buyer across the country.
Louise Smyth, Head of Marketing at L&Q, explains; “It’s a combination of experts in the industry, property portals and the media, all aiming to talk to customers about Shared Ownership. We all pull together as an industry to share hints and tips on becoming a homeowner – and it’s also a great opportunity to showcase our customers who have already bought through Shared Ownership.”
The dedicated SOW supplements published in Metro, First Time Buyer Magazine and the Evening Standard throughout the week help to demonstrate the impact of the scheme. Last year, over 1000 L&Q homes were bought through the Government scheme – and an impressive 400 current residents staircased, buying additional shares in their home.
A key part of the week is the London Home Show, a major event run by property portal Share to Buy, now also in its 10th year. The capital’s biggest exhibition for first time buyers, the LHS offers thousands of attendees the chance to speak with 50 exhibitors all under one roof – and we have been partners from day one.
Zainab Shuiab, PR & Events Coordinator for L&Q explains, “The London Home Show welcomes over 4000 attendees – L&Q alone sees hundreds of people, and we show them our different home ownership options, whether that’s Shared Ownership, London Living Rent or resale homes. It’s a great way for us to come together, meet our potential buyers face to face and provide them with lots of information.”
