With Christmas almost upon us, residents of L&Q’s Beauchamp Park have donated a collection of toys and gifts for local children in care to Child Friendly Warwickshire, making Christmas day special and full of joy for children who may not otherwise receive a Christmas present.
Child Friendly Warwickshire’s charitable programme brings the county together in a collective mission to create opportunities and lasting and positive change for children and young people. Inspired by the principles and values which are embodied by the UNICEF Child Friendly City initiative, Child Friendly Warwickshire aim to make Warwickshire as safe, stable and full of opportunity for young people as possible with access to good health, education and other services.
Child Friendly’s fulsome programme of projects support young people across the county through a range of activities, by encouraging those of age to vote, helping organisations and businesses to be foster-friendly and providing employability skills training sessions.
Roxanne Tim, Senior Field Sales Manager at L&Q, comments: “This time of year is marked by gift giving and lots of us have started Christmas shopping and I am so pleased that the residents of Beauchamp Park have so generously donated such a wonderful collection of gifts for children in care. Every child deserves a Christmas, and the donation will bring a little joy on Christmas morning.”
The donated Christmas gifts were brought along by residents as part of a neighbourhood Christmas event, which took place on 30th November at the Beauchamp Park Marketing Suite. Guests enjoyed refreshments whilst listening to carols performed by a professional acapella group.
Set across a 20.9-hectare site, Beauchamp Park is a major new residential neighbourhood at Gallows Hill in Warwick, which will deliver 450 homes to the local area. Located a short drive from Warwick, this family-friendly development will soon benefit from an array of local amenities in close proximity, including a community centre, a primary school, a country park and children’s play areas.
