L&Q's Shared Ownership event at Beauchamp Park

Beauchamp Park once again welcomed aspiring buyers to the latest Homebuyer Event on Wednesday 18th January. The evening was a great success, attracting those who live locally, as well as people based further afield. The team were on hand throughout the event to talk about Shared Ownership, as well as independent financial advisors who provided, free, financial guidance.
Information was shared regarding eligibility, the application process and staircasing. Events like these ensure that prospective buyers are aware of the required steps ahead of future releases of Shared Ownership homes.
Shared Ownership enables those on lower incomes and the growing number of people wanting to get onto the property ladder, to part-own and part-rent a property, usually paying a mortgage on the part they own and with a subsidised rent on the part they don’t. As their income rises, they can increase the share they own until they eventually own 100% and no longer pay any rent to L&Q in a process known as ‘staircasing’.
