L&Q has been shortlisted in the Best Housing Partnership category for their Beaulieu development at the 2021 British Homes Awards, alongside joint venture partner Countryside.
Selected by a judging panel hailing from various sectors of the building industry – from architecture and masterplanning through to interior design – the shortlist narrows down the very best developments across the UK.
One of the most important developments in Essex, Beaulieu is a sustainable urban expansion for the growing city of Chelmsford, being delivered by a 50/50 joint venture between Countryside and L&Q. Born from a shared vision between the partners, the landmark 610-acre development will ultimately deliver 3,600 homes, of which 30% are affordable.
A key focus for the partnership is their landscape-led approach: Beaulieu boasts 176 acres of public open space and has been designed to be completely accessible without a car, through an elaborate network of footpaths, cycle routes and bridleways. The homes are set amongst themed, manicured gardens and tree-lined avenues.
The latest phase of new homes from L&Q is due to launch this weekend – The Arbour brings 225 Shared Ownership homes to the expanding community.
The winners of the British Homes Awards 2021 will be announced in November.
