This week, The Quarry was delighted to welcome Councillor Teresa O’Neill OBE, Leader of the London Borough of Bexley, for a tour of the site in Erith.

She was joined by the Council’s newly appointed Chief Executive, Jackie Belton, who was visiting the new eco-development for the first time.

The two council representatives were shown around the third phase of properties, which are currently under construction. Due to launch late 2019, these homes will include a selection of 1-4-bedroom properties, including apartments and family homes.

Cllr. O’Neill and Ms. Belton also had the opportunity to see the first streets of completed homes, which are now occupied by The Quarry’s first residents. This visit follows the Leader’s tour of The Quarry last spring, prior to the first residents moving in.

“It’s absolutely fantastic to see the progress being made on the site, especially now that people are living in the new homes. The Quarry shows what can be achieved through great partnership working, creating opportunities for families on a site that has historic links”.

The Quarry will provide around 600 new homes in the London Borough of Bexley, as well as open community spaces including a 3.25-hectare ecology area, play and ecology corridors, and a village green. A new primary school is also in development, which once completed will offer school places to pupils living in the Bexley area.
