Erith in Half Term

Erith is brimming with exciting opportunities to keep the smile on your kids’ faces throughout half-term. We have pulled together our top 5 fun-filled things to do in and around The Quarry’s neighbourhood, to make the most of a full week off school!

Attend a collage workshop at The Exchange

The Exchange has transformed Erith’s Old Library into a space for creativity and community, providing a hub for all kinds of exciting activities. On Thursday 30th May, the site is hosting a collage workshop, designed especially for young people to unleash their creative spirit. The session is free to attend – just bring along your old magazines and prepare for an artistic afternoon!

Visit The Exchange to find out more about the upcoming collage workshop.

Enjoy the great outdoors

Soak up the sunshine and stretch your legs with a walk along one of London’s most famous footpaths. Located along three of the capital’s walking trails, Erith offers the perfect place to see the city by foot. The Green Chain Walk is a firm family favourite, offering the chance to enjoy and explore the surrounding parks and woodland of the local area, with plenty of picnic spots along the way – best of all, it’s free!

Fill yourself with Erith’s finest food

Crumbs Bakery is the perfect half term treat for you and your children, selling the best of baked goods from cupcakes to cookies – you’ll struggle to pick just one! If you prefer savoury to sweet then be sure to pick up a seaside snack at the Riverside Fish Bar or pay a visit to the Duchess of Kent to enjoy the best of British pub grub.

Spot a rare species

Take a trip to the Erith Marshes and catch a glimpse of the incredible range of wildlife living there. Birds and butterflies fill the air as voles and newts roam the ground, if you’re really lucky you may even spot the rare white egret that has been known to visit the marshes from time to time.
