Barking Riverside lies beside two kilometres of beautiful river Thames frontage. Its close proximity to Barking Town centre, the City of London, Canary Wharf and the beautiful Essex countryside makes it the perfect location. You can now reach Central London in 22 minutes via Barking Riverside Overground station. The development is centrally located within the London Riverside Area, part of the larger Thames Gateway redevelopment zone, which is transforming the east London environment. It is one of the largest housing development sites in the UK and one of the largest brownfield developments in Europe. Community Hub: Barking Riverside boasts two new community hubs, The Wilds and The Rivergate Centre. Since opening in July 2021, The Wilds at Barking Riverside has hosted a variety of events and activities for the community and visitors from around London. These include art installations by internationally renowned artists, family workshops, health and wellbeing events, resident talks and corporate gatherings. Whilst The Rivergate Centre offers a range of events, as well as a multi-faith space, community halls and outdoor pitches available to book.

Barking Riverside is already home to a diverse and active community of over 7,500 residents. Existing amenities and assets include five schools, one of which is an Ofsted Outstanding secondary school; two community hubs; cycling and walking routes; 80 hectares of ecology habitat; state-of-the-art recycling and waste management facilities; and a year-round calendar of placemaking activities, including resident-led events and cultural offerings.

Barking Riverside is delivered by master developer Barking Riverside Limited, a joint venture between the Mayor of London and L&Q housing association. This 15-year project will ultimately deliver over 10,000 homes for a community of 30,000 people. Setting a target of 35% affordable housing, the Barking Riverside project is strengthened by delivery partnerships with Transport for London, Uber Boat by Thames Clippers and the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham.
