We are pleased to announce our next Shared Ownership homebuyer event will take place on Saturday 12th November 2022.

This event is a must-visit for any aspiring buyers. We’ll have a range of experts available to talk about the scheme in a jargon-free way including an independent financial adviser to provide unbiased financial advice and tips on how to get qualified. Refreshments will be served throughout the day and our L&Q at Huntley Wharf team will also be on hand to discuss the apartments available to reserve at this new development in central Reading. 

How to book

The event will run hourly sessions from 10am until 5pm held at the L&Q at Huntley Wharf Marketing Suite, 18 Kenavon Drive, Reading, RG1 3DH.

What is Shared Ownership?

Under the Shared Ownership scheme you part-own and part-rent your home, making it possible for first-time buyers and families to get on the property ladder.

The minimum share you can purchase is usually 25% and the maximum is 75%*. You will usually pay a mortgage on the part you own and a subsidised rent on the part you don’t own. As your income rises, you can increase the share you own until you eventually own 100%.

Your income must be less than £90,000 within London and £80,000 outside of London and Shared Ownership is for anyone who doesn’t own a home at completion. If you want to get on the property ladder, but can’t afford to buy outright on the open market, then Shared Ownership could be for you.
