After living outside London for a few years, moving to Gloucester and then overseas for work, when Anthonia returned to London in 2016, progressing up the property ladder seemed the right next step.

The route to own however wasn’t straight forward in the expensive London property market and the affordable property options felt limited. Aspiring to own at least two-bedroom, two-bathroom home, Anthonia was initially unclear how much she could get for her money.

Anthonia comments, “I owned and sold my property in Gloucester, however London’s property values were very different. I would search on and off, trying to get a sense of what I could afford and saving up the required deposit. When I came across L&Q at Regency Heights, I was excited about what I could afford through Shared Ownership at this development.”

L&Q at Regency Heights is a collection of one, two and three bedroom apartments, positioned in the heart of one of the UK’s most exciting regeneration projects since the London 2012 Olympic Games. Located at Old Oak and Park Royal, this West London neighbourhood is set to transform over the next four decades, with £26bn of investment to deliver approximately 25,000 new homes, as well as transforming the Old Oak Common Rail Depot into a major interchange station – making it the only high-speed rail interchange in the UK served by both Crossrail and HS2 services.

Impressed by the area and its affordability, Anthonia purchased a 40% share of a two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment at L&Q at Regency Heights.

As she explained, “I hadn’t really considered Shared Ownership until I came across L&Q at Regency Heights – once I’d seen the development and worked out the maths, it was clear it ticked all of my boxes. The second I stepped out at Park Royal and came up to this development, I fell in love with it!”

Speaking about what drew her to the development, Anthonia highlighted the abundance of greenery. She says, “The surrounding area is my favourite part about Regency Heights; it’s so green and peaceful, particularly the nearby lake. It felt like somewhere I could really grow into.”

Inside, Anthonia was equally impressed by the contemporary open-plan kitchen, with its wide range of integrated appliances and modern fixtures.

“I absolutely love my home – it was just what I was looking for. Now that I have two bedrooms, I’ve been able to have family stay which has been great! And my outdoor space is going to come into its own over summer, I can’t wait to entertain out there.”

Anthonia recalls fond memories of her move in day at L&Q at Regency Heights, “It was an amazing feeling, collecting my keys on moving day. We came in and everywhere was empty, white, clean and shiny – ready for me to make my mark!”

Since moving in, Anthonia has had the chance to experience all the benefits of living in this well-connected, green West London neighbourhood.

Anthonia comments, “I’ve loved living here so far! It’s really accessible to central London, with both the Piccadilly and Central lines nearby, so I’ve gone into Leicester Square and Oxford Street a fair bit.

Reflecting on her buying experience with L&Q, Anthonia says “I really loved the journey with L&Q; from start to finish, they were super professional. Chloe in particular stood out – she made the whole buying experience seamless for me, went above and beyond, and was always really helpful and responsive.”

Looking to her future with L&Q, Anthonia says “When I think about my future here in this development, I have a few options open to me. I bought a 40% share so I could staircase up to 100%, but right now, I’m just concentrating on enjoying my time here.”
