Make sure you know what information you need!

The application form for London Living Rent requires us to collect information to ensure you fit the eligibility criteria. Before you apply please ensure you have the below documents ready.

This information and documentation is required so we ensure we can take you to the next stage of renting your new homes.

The Mayor of London website sets out on the eligbility criteria and who the scheme is set up for, in addition L&Q has specific scheme eligibility and bedroom-size criteria which can be seen your preferred development’s webpage.

 

 

What documents do you need to gather to apply for London Living Rent?

  • Applicants will be required to provide an up-to-date Checkmyfile Multi Agency Credit Report as part of the application process. Please note that obtaining this report may be subject to a fee charged by Checkmyfile or the relevant credit reference agency. Any associated costs will be the responsibility of the applicant.
  • A valid passport for all applicants aged 18 and over.
  • A Right to Rent share code must also be provided where applicable.
  • Three consecutive months’ payslips from your current or previous employer with no employment gaps.
  • P60 from the current financial year
  • A minimum of two years’ SA302s and corresponding Tax Year Overviews for sole traders and Limited Company Directors.
  • A minimum of six consecutive months’ payslips.
  • The most recent three months’ pension payslips or pension statements.
  • A current Universal Credit statement or award letter evidencing entitlement. Please be aware that not all element of your universal credit will be taken into consideration.
  • The latest annual award statement.
  • A copy of the court order and evidence of maintenance payments received.
  • Verification of all household savings and available funds. This should include balances held across current accounts, savings accounts, ISAs, bonds, investment portfolios, cryptocurrency holdings, and any other accessible financial assets.

We’ll need these documents if your application is successful so we can confirm that you meet the London Living Rent eligibility criteria and that the rent is affordable and sustainable for your household.

Because the scheme is designed to help eligible Londoners save towards buying a home, we’ll also look at whether you’ll be able to continue saving towards a deposit while renting your home. Having everything ready before you apply can help make the process smoother and reduce delays if you’re invited to the next stage.

If we’re unable to receive the documents we need within the timescales provided, we may not be able to progress your application further.
